Sepsis

Sepsis is the term used to describe a severe, life threatening reaction to infection where the body's organs are damaged. It is often not recognised in the early stages and the symptoms are often dismissed. Prompt treatment can save lives. The video below from the UK Sepsis Trust has some helpful information and we have posted some prompt cards below for children and adults. Our staff have also received training around sepsis and how to recognise and prioritise patients with concerning symptoms.
