Chaperones

During the course of the consultation, the doctor may need to perform an intimate examination. Our policy is to offer our patients the option of a chaperone during the procedure or examination.

Our chaperones are specifically trained for the role. They are familiar with the procedures involved during the examination, sensitive to patient confidentiality and also are prepared to raise concerns should misconduct occur. All our chaperones have received disclosure and barring (DBS) checks.

Should you wish a chaperone, you can either request this when booking your appointment or alternatively, the doctor will always offer you this option during the consultation. If you would like to see our chaperone policy in full, please ask at reception.
