Everyone has a right to expect individualised, holistic sexual and reproductive healthcare throughout their lives. We provide a contraceptive service for our patients including:

• Help choosing the right contraceptive to suit your needs
• Oral contraceptive pills
• Contraceptive patches
• Contraceptive injections
• Intra-vaginal contraceptive rings
• Vasectomy discussion and referral 

Due to our small practice size, we are not able to fit enough devices such as IUDs (coils) each year to retain our competency. A full service is available from Yorsexual Health.

We also provide emergency contraception. 

Emergency contraception is not as effective as using regular contraception. The two types available are a tablet form or an IUD. The emergency IUD is the most effective option and this is available from Yorsexual Health. The tablets are available from the practice.

The effectiveness of emergency contraception tablets reduces with time so it is important that you contact us as soon as possible if you require this service.

We will also provide advice and support for people considering termination of a pregnancy- please arrange to see the doctor during one of the clinics. Marie Stopes provide some information on your options.

Free Hepatitis B vaccinations are available for high risk people, such as sex workers or men who have sex with men. Please arrange to see our practice nurse.
