Quality Improvement and Safety

We have a continuous programme of quality improvement activities at the practice. These may be changes we make as a result of new national guidelines or best practice for managing specific conditions or systems. They may also be in response to a near-miss or incident or patient feedback at the practice.

As a practice we take Quality Improvement and Safety very seriously. Despite the most robust and resilient systems, we live in an inperfect world and incidents still happen.

We review any significant events (this includes potential events or errors) every two months as a team to share learning and work together to refine and develop our safety systems. There is also a separate review of near misses in the dispensary each month.

The practice is also involved in research programmes to develop and contribute to the wider quality improvement and safety strategy.
